Our 13-week summer clerk programme is a great way for students to immerse themselves in life at Chapman Tripp, build working relationships, receive great training and most of all, get involved in real work.
We keep our intake to around 25-30 summer clerks across our three offices, and we don’t take on more summer clerks than we have law clerk positions to offer. That means our summer clerks don’t compete and they have the opportunity to get stuck into meaningful work.
Our summer clerks rotate through two teams. We will offer you lots of opportunities to find out about all of the teams at Chapman Tripp throughout the recruitment process, so that you can make informed choices when we ask you for your team preferences.
Our programme is much more than just legal work. Our summer clerks get involved in volunteer work, meet clients, attend innovation workshops with our Zeren team and have a number of firm and summer clerk social events to attend (from team sports to gourmet ice-cream tasting to paddle boarding out on the harbour!).
