Our 13-week summer clerk programme is a great way for students to immerse themselves in life at Chapman Tripp, build working relationships, receive great training and most of all, get involved in real work.
We keep our intake to around 25-30 summer clerks across our three offices (including those coming through from our winter clerk programme) and we don’t take on more summer clerks than we have law clerk positions to offer. That means our summer clerks don’t compete and they have the opportunity to get stuck into real work.
Our summer clerks rotate through two teams. Before the programme starts we hold a team information day so that our summer clerks have all the details they need to make an informed decision about their rotation preferences.
But it’s not all work and no play during the programme. Our summer clerks get involved in volunteer work, meet clients and have a number of firm and summer clerk social events to attend.
